The Effect of Taurine on the Development of Mouse Embryo

Abstract
|
|
|
The major aim of this study was to investigate way of acceleration the developmental rate of the mouse embryos during the preimplantation period. Embryonic development and in vitro fertilization rate were examined in T6 medium containing various
taurine
concentrations. In this study, no significant differences were observed between the treatment and the control group. Taurine did not overcome in vitro 2-cell block, when the mouse embryos obtained from ICR strain were cultured in 5mM taurine.
On the other hand, embryos that cultured in T6 medium containing 5mM or 10mM taurine resulted in blastocyst with the highest mean number of cells.
